The Devils Nest
Hans stood there and looked at the entering. He knew what he had to do but did not dare to go in there. Behind him stood Tony, Both Hans and Tony belonged in the police forces Lonestar. The mayor’s youngest son had runaway from home and they suspected that he was hiding in the abandoned subway station called The Devils Nest. Few people dared to go down there because this was a dangerous place where orphans lived and not just ordinary once. This was children who after years and years of abuse and miss conditions decided to runaway. To start a city of there own, where they could live by them self and keep the adult world away. No one really knew what was going on down there, because once you passed the entrance you where never seen again. Some old stories say that cannibalism was common there and that people got raped every single day. The Lonestars believes that it was one leader or a small group of persons who ruled down there but no one really knew. Hans saw this mission as a suicide mission and he didn’t believe that he will survive this. It was simple get in there and find the mayor’s son and get him out of there. Hans and Tony’s mission might seem easy but was one of the most fearsome things you could do.
To get down to the subway you had to walk in to a dark corridor and walk straight ahead until you get to the stairs. Hans and Tony walked slowly towards the stairs. Tony could hear his heart beating in his chest. “It feels like my heart is going to jump out of my chest and run back to the entrance” Tony says. “Quiet you foul” Hans answers. Over the stairs it hanged small lamps which barely gave any light. Once there they could hear a small sound from the subway station who sounded like a ghost city. Every so often you could here screams and calls for help. The stairs was old and if you didn’t walk carefully you might slip and fall down. “Get out your gun, now its starts to get dangerous” Hans says and looks at Tony. Tony wares his Lonestar uniform, its dark blue and the Lonestar badge is on the left side of the chest. The badge consisted of a large gold star and in the middle of the star it stood “Lonestar” and the policeman’s work number. Hans had exactly the same outfit and he also had black glasses. They knew that this outfit didn’t work in there favor, every one down in The Devils Nest hated The Lonestars and if they got the chance they would attack them on sight. “Why do we have to wear these uniforms? It won’t help us down here!” Tony asks. “Because stupid, a Lonestar shall never be afraid to show other that he is a Lonestar. You know our motto standing strong even if we are alone” Hans says and looks at Tony with an irritated glance.
They walked carefully down the stairs and the sound from the subway stations became louder and louder. When they where at the bottom of the stairs they saw a large door, the door was open and over the door it was a statue. The statue was an image of an old man with a child I his arms. Hans and Tony stood there for a while and just looked at the statue. They couldn’t stop looking it was hypnotized and they was draw to its look. The old man looked strait in too Hans and Tony eyes and the child hold his finger to his mouth. Hans could hear a voice in side his head, he couldn’t understand what it was saying but he felt that he wanted to submit to the statue and follow the words. All of a sudden a little girl comes running and screams for help. After her a guy come running whit a knife I his left hand and he was all black around his eyes. He looked possessed of something and he screamed at the girl in some language they couldn’t understand. It sounded like the voice in side Hans head.
When Hans looked around him he saw that Tony stood with his mouth opened and tears was dripping from his eyes. He talked they way the guy and the voice did. Hans pushed Tony and shacked him. Suddenly tony was back and he looked at Hans and asked “What are you doing? It hurts!” Tony looked at Hans and took a step back. “How was it you where talking to?” Hans asked. “Don’t know it just talked and I answered all of a sudden I could talk at that language. It was awesome!” Tony answers and looks exited. “Come on we most carryon” Hans says and walks through the door. The next room was full of ticket windows and old benches. Children were lying on the floor and were sitting up against the walls. They looked strait ahead and talked out in the open. Every single one looked possessed it was almost like they were praying to some one. Hans walked to one of the children a little boy who had marks and wounds all over his chest and arms. “Commendo me tuis es dominus Tenebrae” this was the words that came out from the boy and he said it over and over again.
Hans and Tony walked to the opening in the far side of the room. They walked through the door and noticed that on the other side it was all dark. They couldn’t see a thing and so they stopped. Hans took up his flashlight and started to look around him. But I didn’t help even when Hans used the flashlight it was still dark. Hans and Tony started to walk slowly backwards towards the door that they just came through but I was gone. They where trapped in a dark room with no where to go. All of a sudden a light started to shine just over Hans head and he could see that Tony stood next to him with closed eyes. Tony Talked the way he did before and was saying exactly the same as the boy did “Commendo me tuis es dominus Tenebrae”. Hans stood there and was afraid that the same thing would happen to him. He stood there looking and he saw a large creature coming his way. As the creature came closer he saw that it was an old man who had beard that reached to his knees. He had a red coat and a red hat. In his left hand he had a book and his right he had a whip. The old man stopped just in front of Hans and Tony. He looked at Tony and said ”Welcome my child”. Tony answered on the same language that he was talking before. “Gratias tibi domine” he said and walked pass the large man.
“What are you doing to him” Hans screamed. “Welcoming him to the eternity” the old man said whit a smile. “Leave him alone!” Hans said. “He came on his own will and you can do nothing about it!” The old man said whit a laugh. “How are you?” Hans asks. The old man stretches and becomes 6 feet taller then before. “I am the anxiety in your chest. I am the shadow that’s hunts you. I Am the Nightmare you children dreams. I am everything you fear!” The old man said and whips out in the air. All of a sudden the book starts to float and leaves the old mans hand, it opens by itself and out of it comes black smoke that fills the room that they are standing in. it starts to blow and the smoke starts to rotate around Hans and the old man. Hans takes up his gun and starts to shoot at the old man. “Make it stop you freak!” He said. The old man starts to laugh and blocks the shoots with his hand. Hans couldn’t believe his eyes and he drops the gun. “If you come voluntary you shall find out that I can be a nice guy” the old man said. “And if I don’t!” Hans answers. “Then you shall see that your worst nightmare shall come true!” The old man said and whips in the air once again. The black smoke disappears and the room around them is now lighted. Behind the old man stands a large number of other people who was black around there eyes. Most of them where children and was not older then eighteen years old. Hans could see that the mayor’s son was standing next to the old man and he looked like the rest of the children, Black around there eyes.
It hurts in Hans Heart when he sees so many children “Why?” He asks. “Because that’s the way it works and it always has!” the old man answers. “So you are god or something?” “Yes I am a god, but not the good and kind god that you people worship. I am the opposite of good; I am the opposite of kind. I rule the world beyond yours. Where there is no sunrise, only dawn. No day, only night and once you got in. you never go back!” The old man said whit a look that could kill anyone on site. Hans takes a step back and asks “But why so many children?”
“Because I offer these orphans salvation and gives them a alternative to the life they used to live. When your good god abandons them I show them a god who really cares about his children and hears his people’s prayers. That’s why!” the old man walks and stands behind the crowd of people and says” Now if you excuse me, I have a world to rule. “My children Feast on his flesh.” The old man says whit a laugh and walks away. The crowd moves closer and Hans could see in there eyes that they where going to take him. They did and Hans screamed in pain and called for help. He felt how the life was sucked out of him. Everything became dark and a voice said “Welcome to Hell, you will not enjoy it!”
